Mobile homes have lighter floor systems and particle board subfloors, so not every floor works well. Here's what lasts.
Call (912) 314-9891Flooring ServiceMost mobile homes were built with particle board decking that swells and softens when it gets wet. The floor system also flexes more than a site-built house. Heavy or rigid flooring installed over a weak subfloor can crack, gap or squeak.
That's why the first step in any flooring job should be checking for soft spots near tubs, toilets, sinks and doors, and replacing bad decking before new flooring goes down.
For most mobile homes, rigid-core LVP is the best choice. It is 100% waterproof, light, comfortable underfoot and floats over minor subfloor movement. It handles pets, kids and spills and works in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms.

Laminate gives a wood look at a lower price but most types don't like water, so keep it to dry living areas. Carpet is warm and affordable for bedrooms. Tile can work in bathrooms, but only over a properly reinforced subfloor because it is heavy and doesn't tolerate flex.
Statesboro Home Pros installs LVP, laminate, carpet and tile and repairs subfloors. See our mobile home flooring service or call (912) 314-9891.
Rigid-core luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is the best choice for most mobile homes because it is waterproof, light and handles minor subfloor flex.
Often yes, if the old floor is flat and the subfloor is solid. Soft spots should be repaired first.
Laminate works in dry living areas, but most laminate is not waterproof and should be avoided in kitchens and bathrooms.
Soft floors are usually water-damaged particle board from leaks or moisture under the home. The damaged decking needs to be cut out and replaced.
